Description of Work:

DESIGN GOALS
– Create a lush contemporary look with plants that soften the new hardscape.
– Bring in color thru the seasons, via bloom and foliage.
– Add variety in height and textures of the plants.
– Follow principles of ‘Right Plant, Right Place’ to select plants, so they thrive better in their micro-environments.

Inspired by David Culp’s “The Layered Garden” in which he writes – “The key to creating a many-layered garden is understanding and taking advantage of the ways plants grow and change through the seasons and over the years, providing different textures, colors, and effects and evoking a variety of feelings. Garden layers are made up of a variety of plants, some with complementary or contrasting colors, other with interesting shapes and textures.”
